Swirl
SWIRL • 9m 20s
Best of the Festival 2016 winner Rain Bennett (Raise Up The World Is Our Gym)offers a most personal and intimate look into his life with "SWIRL"; a conversation between two humans in love with different skin colors.
SWIRL is a love letter to love itself, written by Rain (a white man) and his significant other Maya Cooke (a Black woman). The concept came about as Rain and Maya cope continuously with the outward and internal struggle of being an interracial couple.
The film gives insight into the inner workings of a "woke" couple as they seek to educate each other while discovering that the optics of love aren't just in black and white.
